Join us on Tuesday, March 8th at 7pm ET for a free webinar on BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guerin) for bladder cancer patients and caregivers. In this webinar, we’ll explain what BCG is, how it’s used to treat bladder cancer, potential side effects and the different strains that are currently available in Canada. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Madhuri Koti, Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences and Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Cancer Biology and Genetics Division from the Queen’s Cancer Research Institute at Queen’s University as our speaker for this event.
Please register online for this webinar at by Friday, March 4th at 5pm ET.
Dr. Madhuri Koti obtained her Veterinary Medicine and Master’s degrees in India and PhD in Immunogenetics from the University of Guelph, Canada. She completed her postdoctoral studies in Dr. Jeremy Squire’s laboratory at Queen’s University working on projects investigating molecular biomarkers of treatment response in cancer using genome wide profiling approaches. She further advanced these studies via incorporation of immunological biomarkers of response to chemotherapy. Current research in her lab at the Queen’s Cancer Research Institute, employs immunocompetent murine models and patient derived specimens to define immunogenomic correlates of tumor immune landscape and develop immune sensitizing treatment approaches. Additionally, ongoing projects in her lab are also investigating how host age and sex influence the evolution of bladder tumor immune microenvironment and affect response to immunomodulatory therapy such as BCG. In the last five years, since beginning of her independent career she has published over 40 peer reviewed manuscripts. Dr. Koti also serves on national (Cancer Research Society, Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR)) and international grant review panels. Current research in Dr. Koti’s lab is funded by CIHR, Canada Foundation for Innovation, industry, Ontario Ministry of Research Innovation and Science: Early Researcher Award and Bladder Cancer Canada.

The slides from the webinar are available here.
Will the BCG101 webinar be recorded and available later? I can’t be available that evening.
Hi Morty,
Yes, the BCG 101 Webinar will be available on our website after the fact. If you haven’t already signed up for our newsletter, be sure to do so. We’ll include the link in an upcoming newsletter.
Thanks!
