National Volunteer Week is celebrated annually to honour the volunteers who make a powerful impact in communities across the country. From April 19–25, 2026, we proudly recognize and celebrate the dedicated individuals who give their time, energy, and compassion to support bladder cancer patients, caregivers, and families.
This year, as we celebrate the International Volunteer Year, we are embracing the theme Ignite Volunteerism which reflects the spark that volunteers bring to our collective efforts.
The Power Behind Our Mission
At Bladder Cancer Canada, volunteers are the driving force behind everything we do. From leading support groups and participating in awareness events to sharing personal stories and advocating for better patient outcomes, our volunteers help bring hope and connection to those navigating a bladder cancer diagnosis.
Igniting a Difference Across Canada
Our volunteers support initiatives that:
- Provide peer-to-peer support for patients and caregivers
- Increase public awareness about bladder cancer signs, symptoms, and risk factors
- Advocate for improved access to treatment and care
- Raise funds to support research and patient programs
- Represent the bladder cancer community on a local or national scale
Through volunteer efforts, individuals and families impacted by bladder cancer have access to meaningful support when they need it the most.
Celebrating Our Volunteers
During National Volunteer Week, we are taking the time to recognize the remarkable individuals who strengthen our community every day. We invite everyone to join us in saying thank you, whether by sharing a message, highlighting a volunteer’s story, or simply acknowledging the difference they make. Throughout this week, we will highlight some of the volunteers and volunteer contributions that have made an impact. Make sure you follow us on social media to hear these inspiring stories.
To all our volunteers:
Your compassion creates connection.
Your dedication inspires hope.
Your service changes lives.
Your involvement makes this work possible, and it does not go unnoticed.
Together, we continue to strengthen support, advance research, and improve care for those affected by bladder cancer.
THANK YOU!
