At Bladder Cancer Canada, we deeply rely on our dedicated volunteers to help support the small staff team to fulfill our mission. Our incredible volunteers give their time, compassion, and unwavering dedication to support bladder cancer patients and their families through the most challenging moments of their lives. Whether it’s providing emotional support, organizing events, advocating for awareness, or helping with research projects, our volunteers are truly remarkable.
We are thrilled to announce our 2024 Volunteer Award Program – an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary efforts of volunteers who make a real difference in the lives of bladder cancer patients through their volunteer efforts. Our Volunteer Award Program is our way of saying “thank you” and highlighting the incredible work done by these exceptional individuals.
2024 Award Categories:
- The Founders’ Award: Recognizing the volunteer who embodies the spirit and values of our organization.
- Medical Leadership: A medical professional who has demonstrated a long-standing and hands-on commitment to supporting Bladder Cancer Canada’s strategic plan in terms of research, patient care and/or advocacy.
- Student Leadership: Acknowledging an exemplary student volunteer who has inspired their peers to join their efforts in supporting BCC’s mission, through activities beyond their studies that demonstrated leadership.
- Excellence in Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer: Highlighting those who have excelled in planning and executing a local walk in their community.
- Excellence in Support Programs: Recognizing volunteers who has provided exceptional support to others in the bladder cancer community through the One2One Support Program, Support Groups or the Discussion Forum.
- Excellence in Leadership & Community: Honouring a volunteer who has made an impact on the bladder cancer community nationally or regionally.
- New Volunteer of the Year: Welcoming and celebrating the contributions of a new volunteer who has made a significant impact on the mission of Bladder Cancer Canada.
Nominate a Volunteer Today!
Do you know a volunteer who goes above and beyond? Someone whose kindness, commitment, and dedication have had a lasting impact? This is your chance to give them the recognition they deserve.
We are opening the nomination window from October 1 until November 30, 2024, and invite patients, caregivers, and fellow volunteers to nominate individuals who have exemplified exceptional service in the bladder cancer community. The nomination process is easy and can be done via mail, phone or online.
After the nomination window closes, our award selection panel, consisting of BCC staff and volunteers, will carefully review the nominations and select the winners. We’ll be announcing the recipients of these prestigious awards in January of 2025, so stay tuned!
