WE NEED YOU

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization.
We need more people like you to help us make an impact in our mission to support Canadians affected by bladder cancer, increase awareness and fund more research. Whether you’re looking to volunteer for a few hours per month, or you want to get involved in an even bigger way, we have a need that you can fulfill.

Scroll down to view a few of the opportunities available. If you don’t see anything that interests you, drop us a line and we’ll set up a chat to discuss other possibilities – there are so many ways to get involved and we want you to get the most from your experience.

If you’re ready to get started, please complete and submit our Application Form in four easy steps:

VOLUNTEER POSTINGS

WALK COORDINATOR

As a volunteer and the Walk Lead, you will be responsible for organizing all aspects of planning and executing a fundraising and awareness walk in your region.

COMMUNITY AMBASSADORS

As a Community Ambassador you will represent Bladder Cancer Canada (BCC) in your local community. You will establish relationships with health care providers and staff at local hospitals, clinics, cancer centres and other targeted sites in an effort to raise BCC’s profile as the “go-to” resource for bladder cancer patients.

PEER SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

The main goal of a Peer Support Volunteer is to reduce the fear or apprehension borne by the patient/caregiver, and offer support to assist them through their initial diagnoses and ongoing treatments.

ONGOING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

BCC AWARENESS WALK

Walk Coordinators and planning committee members are needed in various locations across Canada.

ONE2ONE PEER SUPPORT

BCC ‘s trained One2One peer support volunteers provide individualized support and understanding based on their own lived experiences with bladder cancer.

SUPPORT GROUPS

BCC engages with support groups in locations across Canada, but there are many regions where we need volunteers to facilitate new groups in their local communities.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Patient education meetings and public awareness events are frequently organized in various locations across Canada. Volunteers are needed to help organize and promote these activities.

ADMINISTRATION

BCC is in need of those with good organizational and computer skills to assist us with administrative tasks and daily operations.

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS

Bladder Cancer Canada (BCC) relies on the efforts of its volunteers, providing us with their valuable time each year across Canada. Whether you’re a member of our Board of Directors, an organizer at our annual fundraising awareness walk, a member of our Medical Advisory or Medical Research Boards, a support volunteer or in one of our other roles, we truly appreciate your contribution however big or small. Each one of you makes us who we are today and for that, we at Bladder Cancer Canada say THANK YOU!

One small way we show our gratitude to our volunteers is through BCC’s Volunteer Awards. Below is a list of award recipients whom we have recognized in previous years for going “above and beyond”.
