Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers contribute significantly to our ability to make a positive difference in the lives of people affected by bladder cancer. Join our incredible team today!

Core Volunteer Roles

Volunteer image_One2One support

One2One Peer Support

A role for individuals impacted by bladder cancer to provide unique perspectives and understanding, offering support to fellow patients and caregivers over the phone.

Volunteer image_Facilitator

Support Group Facilitator

A role for individuals impacted by bladder cancer to host or co-host a monthly virtual or in-person support group, creating a space for patients and caregivers to share concerns, challenges and questions with those who have experienced bladder cancer firsthand.

Volunteer image_Walk coordinator

Walk Coordinator

A role for dedicated individuals to plan and execute a Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer event in their local community. Events are held annually in September.

Volunteer image_Community Engagement

Community Engagement Volunteer

A role for individuals passionate about education and awareness to represent Bladder Cancer Canada at local events, distribute print materials, and build relationships within their community.

Volunteer image_Spokesperson

Spokesperson

A role for individuals impacted by bladder cancer to share their story in print, video recordings or live events.

Volunteer image_Short Term

Short-Term Project Volunteer

A role for volunteers with specific skills to tackle a project – ranging from research, data entry, content creation and more.

Participant Engagement Volunteer

A role for extroverted volunteers to help re-engage participants with Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer through outgoing phone calls.

Volunteer image_Student Ambassador

Student Ambassador

A role for students with leadership skills to establish a ‘Bladder Cancer Awareness Society’ within their school, dedicated to raising awareness and funds through educational initiatives and fundraising events.

Event Day Volunteers

A role for volunteers eager to contribute at local events, namely Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer or patient education events. Simply show up and get started! Photographers welcome as well!

Unique Volunteer Roles

Board Member

Contribute to the development of strategic directions and policies, offer leadership by helping set priorities, sharing insights, ensuring accountability, and acting as a steward of community resources and events.

Social Media Team Member

Help with the creation of content and graphics to help promote BCC programs and events.

A role for a savvy volunteer to assist with the launch and management of a TikTok account for Bladder Cancer Canada.
