Bladder Cancer Canada is honoured to announce a new support group open to anyone whose loved one has been affected by bladder cancer. This virtual support group meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm ET, and is a safe and supportive space to share your concerns, questions, and story with people who have a similar experience.
This group was previously known as the ‘Caregivers Support Group.’ However, we recognize that a loved one’s diagnosis affects more than just those who identify as caregivers. Bladder cancer is a challenging journey not only for those diagnosed, but also for the caregivers, friends and family members who stand by their side. The emotional, physical, and mental toll that it can take is often overlooked. “Together Through Treatment” was created to address this need and to offer a community where caregivers, friends, children, spouses, partners, and anyone else whose loved one is affected by bladder cancer can find understanding, support, and resources.
What to Expect from “Together Through Treatment”
Shared Experiences: In our support group, you’ll find others who truly understand the challenges you face because they’ve been there too. Sharing your experiences with others who “get it” can be incredibly validating and comforting.
Practical Advice & Resource Sharing: Whether it’s tips on managing stress, advice on communicating with healthcare professionals, or guidance on how to balance caregiving with other responsibilities, our group is a resource for practical, real-world advice from those who have been in your shoes. We’ll also explore self-care strategies to help you maintain your well-being while supporting your loved one.
Emotional Support: The emotional weight of a bladder cancer diagnosis can be heavy. Our group is a judgment-free space where you can express your feelings—whether you’re struggling with anxiety, guilt, sadness, or even anger. Here, you’re not alone, and your feelings are valid.
Who Can Join?
