Dearest Friend,
Uncertain times are upon us, around the world, as we globally respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) that’s affecting us all on some level. For those of you diagnosed with bladder cancer, undergoing treatment, waiting for surgeries or trying to move forward with your lives post-cancer, we know that this can be an especially difficult time for you and your loved ones.
Please know that we are here for you.
We employ a small team of dedicated and passionate staff that manage the day-to-day operations of our organization and all our staff work from home. This allows our organization to continue to seamlessly support our communities when situations, such as the coronavirus, occur.
While we have had to reschedule our public events and appearances, you can be assured that it is business as usual at Bladder Cancer Canada and that we will continue to support patients and their loved ones during this global crisis. Please get in touch with us by email at info@bladdercancercanada.org or by phone at 1-866-674-8889. Please note that our normal business practices are to return your call/email within 48 hours and there might be a slight delay during this unusually busy time.
If your concerns are directly related to your health and medical condition, we encourage you to speak directly with your healthcare team as they are the most familiar with your situation and will be able to provide you with the best support. Always know that you can send us a message to let us know how you are doing. We are here for you.
We will continue to actively monitor updates being provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), the government and various news sources to stay informed about this crisis. We will continue to post to our social media sites when we have information that our community may find useful. Our article on our website – Protecting Yourself During the Coronavirus Outbreak – might also be helpful to you at this time.
As a bladder cancer survivor and chair of Bladder Cancer Canada, my compassionate thoughts will remain with you all. May you be healthy, strong and courageous during this time and allow us to help you when you need it.
Sincerely,
Ferg Devins,
Chair, Bladder Cancer Canada
