National Lemonade Day

By Bladder Cancer Canada | News | 5 July, 2024 | 0

Get involved in FUNdraising this August

Celebrate National Lemonade Day this August by supporting bladder cancer patients nationwide.

Hosting a lemonade stand is a fun and impactful way to give back while raising funds for a crucial cause.

Lemons have played a pivotal role in Bladder Cancer Canada’s mission through the success of our national See Red awareness campaign – this is why we need you to turn lemons into lemonade this summer!

Get the whole family involved!

By fundraising, you not only encourage entrepreneurship and creativity in your children but also contribute directly to Bladder Cancer Canada’s work to support patients and fund life-saving research.

Let’s make this summer memorable by spreading joy and hope one cup of lemonade at a time. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the fight against bladder cancer!

Ready to host a lemonade stand fundraiser? Follow these simple steps!

Hosting a lemonade stand can be a fun and rewarding experience, especially during warmer months. Follow this step-by-step guide to get started:

  1. Choose a location, and set a date and time: Decide where and when you want to host your fundraising lemonade stand. Weekends or holidays are often good times when people are out and about.

  2. Gather your supplies: These include lemonade, cups, a table and anything else you and your helpers need! You can also download and print the official Lemonade Stand Poster HERE. Be sure to include the price and any specials (i.e., “Buy One, Get One Free”)

  3. Prepare for your lemonade stand: Arrange your table with your posters, cups and all other materials. Don’t forget to make your lemonade!

  4. Host your lemonade stand: It’s time to put all your hard work into motion! Smile and greet your customers and tell them why you’re hosting a fundraising lemonade stand. Remember to properly handle the funds raised; a secure box or container for cash is recommended.

If anyone would like to make an additional donation to Bladder Cancer Canada, you can print and have some donation forms available at the table. All donation forms should be mailed with a cheque to Bladder Cancer Canada, 4936 Yonge St., Suite 1000, Toronto, ON M2N 6S3.

  5. After the event: Calculate how much money your lemonade stand has made after deducting your initial costs (ingredients, supplies). You can submit the funds raised online or by mailing a cheque with a donation form to Bladder Cancer Canada, 4936 Yonge St., Suite 1000, Toronto, ON M2N 6S3.

Hosting a lemonade stand can be a wonderful way to have fun, learn about entrepreneurship, and interact with your community. Good luck with your lemonade stand!
