As BCC celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2019, there is another reason for celebration: Dr. Wes Kassouf has been awarded the inaugural BCC Medical Leadership Award for his remarkable service and dedication to BCC and the patients it supports.
Dr. Kassouf has been Chair of the Medical Advisory and Medical Research Boards of BCC since its inception 10 years ago and has provided unparalleled leadership during this period of growth. It is with mixed feelings that we bid farewell to Dr. Kassouf as the Chair. However, we have established a Past-Chair position to ensure that he can remain on the Board and we can tap into his accumulated wisdom!
While we are sad to see him go, we are proud to introduce the new leadership team, including myself, Dr. Peter Black (Urologist, University of British Columbia) as Chair to replace Dr. Kassouf, Dr. Girish Kulkarni (Urologist, University of Toronto) as Vice Chair of the Medical Research Board and Dr. Srikala Sridhar (Medical Oncologist, University of Toronto) as Vice Chair of the Medical Advisory Board.
We welcome new members on the 2019/2020 Board including:
Fadi Brimo (Pathologist, McGill University)
Fabio Cury (Medical Oncologist, McGill University)
Chris French (Urologist, Memorial University of Newfoundland)
Geoff Gotto (Urologist, University of Calgary)
Paul Hartman (Urologist, University of Saskatchewan)
Lalani Aly-Khan (Medical Oncologist, McMaster University)
Ross Mason (Dalhousie University)
Jay Nayak (Urologist, University of Manitoba)
Importantly, these changes in the Medical Advisory and Research Boards demonstrate the depth of medical talent supporting BCC, and their commitment to the further growth of the organization.
Sincerely,
Dr. Peter Black
Chair, BCC Medical Advisory and Research Boards
