In this webinar, Dr. Girish Kulkarni set a foundation of the basics of clinical trials (what they are, how are they designed, terminology, etc.). He then delved deeper into aspects such as evaluating risks vs. benefits, treatment variables for eligibility, time commitment, and finally, he shared resources for finding and accessing clinical trials in Canada.
Dr. Kulkarni was joined by Tony Cornacchia, a metastatic bladder cancer survivor and a BCC volunteer. Tony shared his own experience as a clinical trial participant, including his personal tips for patients and caregivers to cope with the emotional implications of participating in a trial.
