Courtney has worked in the health and wellness sector in Calgary for over 15 years, with experience spanning corporate healthcare, private healthcare, and longevity medicine. She specializes in healthcare program development and implementation, with a strong focus on personalized, client- centred care. With a background in exercise and wellness and extensive experience in medical settings, Courtney is passionate about inspiring individuals to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Courtney has been actively involved with Bladder Cancer Canada for the past 10 years as co-lead of the Calgary “Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer” event. Her involvement is deeply personal; this disease has affected her family more than once. When Courtney was a teenager, her grandmother was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer and experienced ongoing treatment and recurrences before eventually becoming Cancer free and has remained so for the past 20 years. And in 2014, Courtney herself was diagnosed with advanced-stage bladder cancer and successfully underwent bladder- sparing surgery with a partial cystectomy, a rare option for advanced disease. Motivated by gratitude for the care and support she and her grandmother received during their cancer journeys, she is committed to using her professional expertise and lived experience to support Bladder Cancer Canada’s mission.
Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Wellness from Arizona State University, with additional certifications in both Nutrition and Personal Training. Outside of her professional and volunteer roles, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, practicing yoga and dance, and watching her young daughter grow and discover the world around her.
