Bladder Cancer Awareness Month is recognized globally every May. It is an opportunity to shine a light on this common, yet lesser-known cancer. Throughout the month of May, we aim to bring awareness to bladder cancer, highlighting patient stories, experiences, stats and figures, as well as important information about this disease and its symptoms.
Bladder cancer is the 5th most common cancer in Canada, with over 80,000 Canadians currently living with the disease. Approximately 37 Canadians are diagnosed each day, meaning over 13,400 will be diagnosed this year alone.
By raising awareness of bladder cancer symptoms, our hope is that more patients will be diagnosed and treated earlier to preserve their bladder and quality of life.
