BLADDER CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
May 2018 marked the third Bladder Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) in Canada. Each year, we’ve put an emphasis on different goals for the month of May, but each strategy has been developed with an end result of reaching and impacting the approximately 80,000 Canadians living with bladder cancer.
In 2018, it was clear that our volunteers were critical to the outreach and exposure that we garnered. Our social media and website engagement more than tripled, and donations spiked (versus a typical month). We are truly grateful to those who showed how #YellowHelps – together we’ve saved lives and enabled Bladder Cancer Canada to continue working toward our Vision of “awareness, support and research to create a world where bladder cancer is just a memory“.
There were so many amazing initiatives across the country in 2018 – we couldn’t share them all here, but the photos below highlight a few examples of what our hard-working volunteers made happen. In 2019, we’ll mark Bladder Cancer Canada’s 10-year anniversary, so ensure you’re subscribed for our newsletter to be among the first to get involved in this momentous milestone.
