Valerie was first diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2008. She had two small tumours removed and six weeks of BCG and then went on with life. In 2010 a third tumour was found. She sought a second opinion on next steps from a Bladder Cancer Canada recommended urologist. She believes that second opinion saved her bladder.
“Like many bladder cancer patients, I originally knew very little about the disease. When the cancer returned in 2010 I started educating myself and found Bladder Cancer Canada – what a great resource for information and support,” says Valerie.
“The support of my family, friends and Bladder Cancer Canada has been crucial to my health. I appreciate them more than words can express!”
