Randy is the Founder and Managing Director of Resilience Continuity Solutions (RCS) a full-service business continuity and emergency management consulting firm. Prior to RCS, Randy held executive positions with two large multi-national fire, life safety and security companies. Most recently, he was the Business Continuity & Emergency Response Director for a major global Facility Management firm.
Randy was diagnosed with non-muscle-invasive, high-grade bladder cancer in 2013 – but thanks to 20 rounds of BCG treatment, he has remained in remission.
Randy joined Bladder Cancer Canada (BCC) in 2014, expressing an interest in starting a Support Group and an Awareness Walk in Durham Region. After establishing the support group and completing a successful walk which raised over $20,000, Randy’s passion, dedication, and innate ability to support his peers made him the perfect fit to take on the role of Coordinator of BCC’s Peer Support Program.
For over five years, Randy has dedicated countless hours to patients and caregivers in need, either by providing support himself, or by collaborating with BCC’s roster of over 55 Peer Support Volunteers to address each caller’s concerns in the most timely and compassionate manner possible. Amazingly, Randy has sustained this high level of volunteerism while working full time and then transitioning into semi-retirement operating his consulting firm, acting as a Certification Commissioner with the Disaster Recovery Institute and working part time as a distance education instructor in the Disaster & Emergency Management Program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).
