Elliott was retired with time on his hands when he met Bladder Cancer Canada Chair David Guttman. "He suggested working to increase awareness of bladder cancer and of BCC and I accepted immediately" says Elliott. Elliott has been in Toronto all his life. He graduated in 1967 with a B.Comm from University of Toronto. He spent his career as an importer/distributor in the gift and toy industry, eventually retiring in April of 2011. Elliott and Nicole have been married since 1966. They have three children and five grandchildren who all live within a 15 minute radius of them. They also spend summers together at their summer home on Lake Simcoe. Elliott plays hockey, golf, tennis and goes snow skiing with the family once a year.
