Dr. Berman is Professor of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and Director of the Queen’s Cancer Research Institute at Queen’s University.
Research: His research focuses on basic, translational, and clinical aspects of bladder and prostate cancer. He has authored over 60 scientific publications which have helped establish embryonic signaling pathways as important and useful drug targets in cancer, have identified bladder cancer stem cells, and have helped to shape surgical pathology practice. He has also held leadership positions in research, education and administration, Dr. Berman received his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and residency (Anatomic Pathology) and postdoctoral (Molecular Biology and Genetics) training at Johns Hopkins University
