Celebrating Excellence: The Bladder Cancer Canada Volunteer Awards 2023

By Bladder Cancer Canada | Blog, Honouring our volunteers, Latest news and stories | 29 September, 2023 | 0

At Bladder Cancer Canada, we are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to support our mission. They are the heart and soul of our mission, the driving force behind our accomplishments, and the bright stars that light up our path towards making a difference in the bladder cancer community. We are delighted to announce the opportunity to recognize their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment through our 2023 Volunteer Award Program!

By recognizing and celebrating their efforts, we not only express our gratitude but also inspire others to join our cause. Our Volunteer Award Program is our way of saying “thank you” and highlighting the incredible work done by these exceptional individuals.

We have created a range of award categories to acknowledge various aspects of our volunteer’s dedication and hard work. These awards include:

    1. The Founders’ Award: Recognizing the volunteer who embodies the spirit and values of our organization.
    2. Medical Leadership: A medical professional who has demonstrated a long-standing and hands-on commitment to supporting Bladder Cancer Canada’s strategic plan in terms of research, patient care and/or advocacy.
    3. Student Leadership: Acknowledging an exemplary student volunteer who has inspired their peers to join their efforts in supporting BCC’s mission, through activities beyond their studies that demonstrated leadership.
    4. Excellence in Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer: Highlighting those who have excelled in planning and executing a local walk in their community.
    5. Excellence in Support Programs: Recognizing volunteers who has provided exceptional support to others in the bladder cancer community through the One2One Support Program, Support Groups or the Discussion Forum.
    6. Excellence in Leadership & Community: Honouring a volunteer who has made an impact on the bladder cancer community nationally or regionally.
    7. New Volunteer of the Year: Welcoming and celebrating the contributions of a new volunteer who has made a significant impact on the mission of Bladder Cancer Canada.

Do you know a volunteer who deserves recognition? We encourage you to nominate them for one of our Volunteer Awards! The nomination process is easy and can be done via mail, phone or online.

The nomination window is open from October 1 until November 30, 2023. Don’t miss this opportunity to show your appreciation for the incredible volunteers who make our organization thrive.

After the nomination window closes, our distinguished award panel, consisting of BCC staff and volunteers, will carefully review the nominations and select the winners. We’ll be announcing the recipients of these prestigious awards in January of 2024, so stay tuned!

Thank you for your continued support, and let the celebration begin!
