The Board of Directors of Bladder Cancer Canada wishes to advise of a recent change in the leadership at Bladder Cancer Canada. Effective August 7th, 2020, Dr. Dionne Duncan is no longer in the employ of Bladder Cancer Canada. We thank Dr. Duncan for her service and wish her well in her future endeavours.
Effective Monday August 17th, Michele Zielinski will be fulfilling the important role of Managing Director for Bladder Cancer Canada, on an interim basis.
Michele is no stranger to our organization, having been a board member with Bladder Cancer Canada for the past two years, a dedicated volunteer of the organization from Edmonton, Alberta since 2012, and is a muscle invasive bladder cancer survivor. Michele is currently an independent business consultant with a passion for complex problem solving, strategic innovation and “work that matters most”.
With over 30 years of progressive senior leadership experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors, she has worked expansively in the healthcare sector. More recently, Michele led the start-up of Wellspring Edmonton, a non-medical cancer support centre – the 9th Wellspring in Canada. Michele is working to complete her Masters in Organizational Leadership, with a specialization in strategic innovation and change management.
She and her husband Claude live in rural Alberta.
Please join our board in welcoming Michele to her important new role with Bladder Cancer Canada. We look forward, with shared enthusiasm, to continuing to meet the needs of our patient community in partnership with our medical research and advisory boards, our staff and volunteers coast to coast to coast, who all continue to work towards a world where bladder cancer is just a memory.
